The Inner Gaze

The very first CEDRUS creation, IRIS draws its inspiration from the human eye, a universal symbol of perception and light. Its concentric composition evokes the depth of the gaze, like an opening between the intimate and the infinite. The lines radiating around the centre recall the complex structure of the iris and give the design its almost hypnotic character.

Material and Texture

Entirely handcrafted, IRIS reveals the nobility of fibres selected for their brilliance and density. The interplay of textures and contrasts brings depth to the composition, while the radiating elements structure the surface and capture the light in different ways.

The high-pressure Handtufted technique allows this succession of lines and reliefs to be executed with great precision, while creating a dense, generous and exceptionally comfortable surface.

A Founding Icon

As the very first CEDRUS creation, IRIS holds a particular place in the history of the brand. From the outset, it establishes one of its founding principles: drawing inspiration from universal forms found in nature and humanity and transforming them into contemporary textile compositions.

Like every CEDRUS creation, IRIS provides a starting point for a bespoke piece. Dimensions, shape and colours can be adapted to the project, as can the proportions and scale of the design, allowing its distinctive composition to be expressed through different geometries while preserving its identity.
