Warmth and Intensity

TONKA draws its inspiration from the sensory richness of the tonka bean, celebrated for its deep, suave and enveloping aromas. This olfactory intensity is translated into a visual and tactile language where organic forms, nuanced materials and reliefs create a warm and deeply sensorial surface.

Material and Textures

Crafted in high-pressure Handtufted through an interplay of bamboo loops and cut pile, TONKA explores subtle contrasts of texture. The softness of the velvet-like pile interacts with the naturally silky lustre of bamboo, while variations in relief create a succession of irregular forms that bring rhythm and depth to the surface.

The density of the construction enhances this generous and enveloping sensation, while light reveals each part of the design differently depending on the point of view.

A Singular Mark

Warm, profound and refined, TONKA asserts a distinctive presence within the space. Its organic design and tactile richness reflect the complex and mysterious character of the tonka bean from which it takes its name, in a resolutely contemporary interpretation.

Like every CEDRUS creation, TONKA provides a starting point for a bespoke piece. Dimensions, shape and colours can be adapted to the project, as can the proportions and scale of the design, allowing the composition to evolve while preserving its identity.
