With COTTON TREE COLLECTION, ELSEN AND SON explores an organic language inspired by the branching structure of a tree, its irregular lines flowing across the surface of the rug like a spontaneous drawing traced by nature.

Entirely handcrafted using the Handtufted technique, the collection plays on the encounter between two materials and two distinct textures. The branching lines are worked in natural Hemp loops, preserved in their authentic natural colour, while the surrounding surfaces are created in a soft and generous cotton-fibre cut pile. The contrast between the raw, structured character of Hemp and the softness of the velvet gives the design its distinctive relief and depth.

More than a pattern simply applied to the surface, the design emerges directly through the material itself. Depending on the light and viewing angle, variations in height, texture and density gradually reveal the rug’s organic lines, giving it a presence that is both graphic and particularly tactile.

While the Hemp is deliberately preserved in its natural colour, the velvet can be created in a wide palette of shades. From luminous compositions in white or cream to much more contrasting interpretations in black or other colours, this freedom allows COTTON TREE to take on a very different expression depending on the interior in which it is placed.

The collection can be fully customised in size, shape and velvet colour. Rectangular, round, oval or freeform, each piece can be adapted to the project. The graphic principle of COTTON TREE can also become the starting point for an entirely bespoke design, developed specifically for a particular interior.
