With ICE CREAM COLLECTION, ELSEN AND SON explores a generous and refined vision of the contemporary rug, built around the uniformity of a rich, silky and deeply comfortable texture. Designed primarily as a plain rug, with or without a coloured border, the collection embraces a pure and timeless aesthetic that allows the material to fully express itself.

Entirely handcrafted using the Handtufted technique, ICE CREAM COLLECTION is made from Mousse de Soie, a blend of plant-based silks selected for its softness, luminosity and exceptional feel. Its dense, generous velvet develops a subtle sheen that brings depth and elegance to the surface.

The Handtufted construction creates a remarkable uniformity of texture and reflection across the entire rug, without the directional weave effect associated with woven constructions. Light is distributed evenly across the velvet, enhancing the richness of Mousse de Soie and its naturally silky appearance.

Conceived above all as a plain design, ICE CREAM COLLECTION can be created in a single colour for a particularly pure expression or enhanced with a coloured border, either tone-on-tone or contrasting. Lines can also be incorporated to subtly structure the surface while preserving the collection’s understated and generous identity.

The Handtufted technique offers great creative freedom: ICE CREAM COLLECTION is fully customisable in shape, size and colours. Colours are developed bespoke, allowing each rug to be created specifically in response to the architecture, furniture and colour scheme of a particular project.

Comfort can also be adapted to the desired level of generosity. Available in a standard thickness of 12 to 14 mm, ICE CREAM COLLECTION can also be produced in an Extra Thickness version of 18 to 20 mm. Deeper and more enveloping, this finish further enhances the softness underfoot, like an invitation to walk on a cloud.
