Vibrations in Matter

RESONANTIA explores the phenomenon of resonance through a multitude of organic forms that seem to respond to one another and spread across the surface of the rug. At times concentrated, at times dispersed, they expand, converge and drift apart like vibrations travelling through matter. The design creates a fluid and spontaneous movement, punctuated by an interplay between density and openness.

Material and Textures

Entirely crafted in high-pressure Handtufted in a refined blend of New Zealand wool and Bamboo, RESONANTIA plays with relief and contrasting textures to give the design its depth. The different materials react subtly to light, allowing the forms to emerge with varying intensity depending on the point of view.

The precision of the Handtufted technique allows this multitude of organic contours and their variations in scale to be rendered with great finesse. Reliefs, materials and quieter open areas interact across the surface, reinforcing the impression of a vibration travelling through the rug.

An Organic Rhythm

With RESONANTIA, CEDRUS transforms repetition into vibration. The accumulation of forms is never uniform: it intensifies before gradually dissolving into more open areas. This alternation creates an organic landscape in which form, material and light appear to resonate naturally with one another.

Like every CEDRUS creation, RESONANTIA provides a starting point for a bespoke piece. Dimensions, shape and colours can be adapted to the project, as can the proportions, scale and density of the design, allowing its rhythm and presence to evolve in response to the architecture of each space.
