CEDRUS N°13 • AURA

Presence and Diffusion

AURA explores a more intangible dimension of design, somewhere between presence and disappearance. Inspired by natural halos and atmospheric phenomena, its design is built around a subtle radial gradient: shades and materials seem to radiate from the heart of the composition before gradually blending into one another.

The design never imposes itself abruptly. Instead, it emerges and diffuses through the material, creating an almost ethereal sensation of depth. This gradual transition gives AURA a soft and enveloping presence, whose perception naturally evolves with light and perspective.

Materials and Textures

Entirely crafted in high-pressure Handtufted in a refined blend of New Zealand wool and Bamboo, AURA develops a dense and generous surface where matte and luminous textures interact.

The natural depth of the wool contrasts with the silky sheen of Bamboo, which captures the light and enhances the depth of the gradient. The precision of the Handtufted technique allows the transitions between different shades and materials to be subtly controlled, creating a visually and tactilely rich surface that evolves according to the point of view.

A Subtle Radiance

With AURA, CEDRUS transforms the gradient into a true sensation of light and depth. The radial movement appears to diffuse from the heart of the rug towards its contours, creating an immersive composition in which the boundaries between colours and materials become deliberately undefined.

This radial construction does not impose any particular shape on the rug. AURA can therefore unfold within an organic, oval, round or rectangular form while retaining the principle of diffusion that lies at the very heart of its design.

Like every CEDRUS creation, AURA provides a starting point for a bespoke piece. Dimensions, shape and colours can be adapted to the project, as can the proportions, amplitude and development of the radial gradient, allowing a composition to be specifically conceived for each space while preserving the soft and diffused presence that defines its identity.
