Origin and Emergence

GENESIS evokes the very moment when form begins to exist. Inspired by natural expansion and organic growth, its design captures the energy of an initial impulse that seems to spread freely across the surface of the rug. Irregular forms appear, stretch, converge and disperse, suggesting a living structure in constant transformation.

Material and Textures

Crafted in high-pressure Handtufted in a cut pile blending New Zealand wool and nylon fibres, GENESIS reveals its design through particularly precise carving. The forms emerge from the surface through subtle variations in relief, creating a delicate contrast between the background and the sculpted elements.

The density of the Handtufted construction allows these different levels to be worked with great precision while enhancing the sensation of movement. The design therefore appears to emerge directly from the material, combining depth, softness and relief.

A Foundational Gesture

With GENESIS, CEDRUS explores the very idea of birth and transformation. Balancing apparent spontaneity with controlled composition, each element contributes to an overall movement that evokes the origin of a form, a material or a landscape still in the process of becoming.

Understated when viewed as a whole yet remarkably rich when experienced up close, GENESIS plays on this duality between simplicity and complexity, stillness and movement.

Like every CEDRUS creation, GENESIS provides a starting point for a bespoke piece. Dimensions, shape and colours can be adapted to the project, as can the proportions, scale and distribution of the different elements within the design, allowing its composition to evolve in harmony with each space.
